Ukrainians and israelis, both these people have suffered unexpected attacks. Both these nations face the danger of disappearing from the world map, if they will stop fighting.

I only wish that ukrainians could have the same military superiority over their enemies that the israelis have.

• The idiot guy joke

O cartoon acima lembra-me uma outra piada sobre o mesmo idiota. Que é assim:

Um activista russo começa a gritar aos quatro ventos na Praça Vermelha em Moscovo que “Putin é um idiota!…”.

É preso na hora e imediatamente condenado a uma pena cumulativa de 25 anos.

5 anos por difamar o actual* presidente da Federação Russa.

20 anos por divulgar um importantíssimo segredo de estado.

* E quiçá vitalício, se nenhum mamborreiro lhe limpar o sebo, entretanto… "Tu quoque, Brutus!...", já dizia o outro. Adorava que o papel de Brutus calhasse ao Peskov. Ou aquele execrável general que é o porta-voz do exército russo nos noticiários da tv.

• A NAFO

A NAFO*… Um jogo de palavras com outro acrónimo, a NATO. Se a Ucrânia ainda não pode aderir à NATO, os ucranianos já podem juntar-se à NAFO em nome individual. E o mesmo acontece com todos os seres deste mundo que comecem a sentir uma particular forma de comichão, a que alguns chamam Russofobia.

Já há algum tempo que esta NAFO me vinha despertando a atenção nas redes sociais. Mas afinal, que raio é esta bizarra coisa da NAFO?…

Como é que ainda ninguém teve esta simples visão do maior mal do ser humano sob este prisma?..

• WYD Lisbon 2023

Let me begin at once by solemnly stating that I am not a believer.

Having said that, I cannot remain blind to what happened this week in my hometown Lisbon. And the previous ones throughout this small country, which suddenly found itself invaded by perhaps about 10% of its official population.

And that significant increase in population, coming from all parts of this world - except, they say, from the Maldives - was totally made up of happy people. Positive feelings, no one complaining about anything, despite being a hard time under a heat wave.

For a week or two or maybe longer* my country Portugal - the whole of it, including the Azores and Madeira archipelagos, but mainly the great Lisbon area - dethroned my also dear Finland as the happiest country in the world.

The WYD, or in portuguese, as Jornadas Mundiais da Juventude, oficially ended yesterday, sunday. Everything went well, we locals can finally breathe a sigh of relief because there were no major incidents, given the huge number of outsiders who were here present.

All in all, it was a good exercise of citizenship taken to the extreme. And we all passed this drill, both locals and visitors. I wouldn’t mind to live it once again.

• Ainda a OME* russa

Como não gostar deste povo ucraniano? Como pode haver gentinha que lhes nutre um ódio doentio ou patológico?

Têm que suportar com uma agressão brutal e desproporcionada por parte do cabrão do Putin, que já lhes arrasou com muitas cidades… E no entanto mantém um fino humor, carregado dum sarcasmo delicioso de inteligente. Entendedores entenderão.

Este é só mais um exemplo desse humor, depois dos que divulguei num post deste blog em Abril do passado ano.

* OME, Operação Militar Especial, como cinicamente o Kremlin resolveu baptizar este conflito tão estúpido e absurdo quanto um dia se concluirá que foi totalmente desnecessário e muito oneroso em vidas humanas. Tanto que até o sanguinário Yevgeny Prigozhin já verbalizou assim.
